beauty isn't make up

my son once asked me, if is it true the reason for women putting on make up is to attract men, or at least is that my reason? and my answer was, "well, the only reason i put on make up...ermmm actually mascara, is so that i don't look like i just wake up from bed.. and i needed to look more alive at work?!" hahahah :D
