What is coaching?
Coaching is a developmental approach to working and interacting with other people. It can strengthen their ability to use a range of influencing and leadership styles. Coaching can help people feel more empowered to make a difference and improve their own effectiveness.
In coaching, fundamentally, the coach is helping the individual to in other words,
- learn more about themselves,
- find out how they are perceived by others,
- and improve on areas of their personalities that they are not satisfied with.

Further, coaching takes learning to a level beyond remembering and understanding. Put simply, coaching is a process that aims to improve performance and focuses on the 'here and now' rather than on the distant past or future.
Who is the Coach?
Nurain Mohamed Kalam, with more than 20 years of experience as the Head of Customer Service & Marketing with a well known utility company. Holds a BSc in Business Management, major in Industrial Relations from Bridgeport University, Connecticut, USA. She is also the Founder of AKO Fitness, a mobile fitness company since 2014. Experienced in building competent team of customer service personnel and has helped many in health and also weight management program.
Since she has been doing some mentoring and coaching exercise directly and indirectly, she then decided to take it to a next level. She became a Certified Improvement & Development Coach by International Coach Federation in October 2020. Currently working towards accumulating her coaching hours to upgrade to be certified as a ACC, (Associate Certified Coach).
